Solomon Islands Opportunity In July

July 10-17, 2012 dive the Solomon Island aboard the M/V Bilikiki, one of the best liveaboards on any ocean.  Join forces with another group of interested divers.  There are currently three slots open.  If you are interested you should contact Dennis Holober.

Details:

It is a 10-night dive trip with 9-days of unlimited diving, all meals, snack, and drinks.  The rate is $4070.00 pp, plus $25.00 per night tax ($250.00 total for this trip.  If three more Coconuts join the group, the effective rate is $3700.00 per person.

Homeport is Honiara and the dive itinerary includes dive sites in the Florida Islands, the Russell Islands, Mborokua (Mary) Island and Marovo Lagoon in the New Georgia Islands.  The water is always warm and the viz is always about 100 feet horizontal and 200+ feet vertical.  Mary Island, for example, is a remote, jungle-clad island about as far off the beaten tourist track as you can get. This extinct volcanic island lies west of the Russell Islands and is surrounded by deep walls with prolific marine life including barracuda, manta rays and sharks. It is one of those dive destinations that once visited it is never forgotten.  For wreck fans, dive the Toa Maru, a Japanese transport ship sunk off Gizo during World War II in Marovo Lagoon.  The deepest point of the wreck is by the stern, which rest in about 130 feet of water; however, the top of the wreck can be reached at a depth of about 40 feet.

Honiara is reached by a non-stop flight to Nadi, Fiji, from the west coast of the USA, and a short non-stop flight from Nadi.
